"Let's Start A Business" Youth Entrepreneur
Summer Academy

Since 2001, the Legacy Associates Foundation has worked with schools and community centers across regional Detroit to provide youth the information, tools and resources necessary to be successful entrepreneurs. We truly believe that our "Let's Start A Business" program plants the seed of self-sufficiency today within tomorrow's business leaders.

In partnership with Lawrence Technological University July 21st - July 25th, the LAF will present the most dynamic, high quality and comprehensive Youth Entrepreneur & Business Skills Conference that the state of Michigan has to offer. Teenage youth from around the region (ages 9-18) will have the opportunity to participate in the conference over five consecutive days (Monday - Friday, 9am-4pm). During the academy, youth will be taught and have hands-on in experience in the following areas:

• What it's like to be an entrepreneur.
• Developing a business plan for an actual business of their own.
• Reinforcement of basic learning concepts in English and mathematics.
• Improving their levels of financial literacy by understanding how to manage their money.
• Business literacy training, review and development.
• Motivation to be successful and have the confidence to succeed..
• Learning good networking and interpersonal skills.
• Improving critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Compete to win the Legacy Associates Foundation "Youth Business Grant" to apply towards your own business venture and idea!!
• And much more!

Location: Lawrence Technological University, Southfield Campus
Cost: $150 (Commuting Students) / $300 (On Campus Students)
